A day without laughter is a day wasted~~ Charlie Chaplin

Laughing makes life better. Don't you think?
Well, I recently told this embarrassing story to some friends and we laughed til we cried. The translation to writing might not hit that mark, but I thought I would at least get you on the road to a small
giggle or at least a smile.
During the summer of 2007, I was taking classes at CU Denver to get certified to teach. I was running late for class and I had to hustle to the bus stop 2 blocks away from our house. I quickly finished getting ready, went to the bathroom, got my book bag, stepped out to the porch and checked the mail. I clumsily dropped the mail so I bent over to pick it up. As I turned around, I waved at my neighbor across the street, and then I hurried to the bus stop.
As I was crossing the street I thought I heard someone talking to me:
"Excuse me, ma'am? Your skirt is tucked into your underwear!!!"
I turned and saw a woman in a mini van about 20 yards away waving her arms.
"What? " I said looking around; pretty sure she wasn't talking to me--
did I hear something about underwear?

"YOUR SKIRT IS TUCKED INTO YOUR UNDERWEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
she yelled pointing with both hands.
Oh. She is talking to me.
Crap.

Flabbergasted, embarrassed and relieved I pulled my skirt out from my underwear and began to profusely thank this angel sent from heaven--
"Thank you! Thank you for telling me! I am about to get on the bus!
You helped me today, thank you!!!"
She said that she would want someone to tell her and she hoped that I didn't mind
that she told me.
I assured her that she saved my life. Well, at least saved me from showing my backside to the 30 or so people on the bus, not to mention a walk across campus to my class.

While recovering from this horrific incident, I was racking my brain trying to remember if I noticed any people or cars on my speed walk to the bus stop. I gasped out loud as I remembered bending down to pick up my dropped mail and then waving at my neighbor.
Crap.

I have mostly recovered from this little incident but believe you me,
I certainly check that my skirt is in its proper place.
Every time.
